Couple of offbeat quotes
November 13th 2010 18:50
The first of these is from a book I can't even remember reading now - but it's a lovely piece of pscyho-speak:
It comes from Beyond Sex Roles - Gilbert Bilezikian, chapter two.
[Eve] was a victim of the second-generation-believer-fa deout syndrome.
(And just in case you feel Bilezikian might be one of those proponents of men more important than women in the Christian world, check out this discussion.)
The second quote comes from the Otago Daily Times, the local newspaper in my home city. It was written on 26th July, 1988.
The present level of unemployment was unacceptable but the only alternative was higher joblessness, the Prime Minister, Mr Lange, said yesterday.
Enough said, I think.
