Dale Carnegie quotes
October 30th 2011 23:58
One of the ezines I get each week provided the following quotes from Dale Carnegie, whose book, How to Win Friends and Influence People is still a classic. Some people don't like his tone, but you have to admit he's right about much of what he says...and a lot of what he says comes straight from New Testament teaching, anyway!
"You can make more friends in two months
by becoming interested in other people
than you can in two years
by trying to get people interested in you."
"Success is getting what you want.
Happiness is wanting what you get."
"If you want to gather honey, don't kick over the beehive."
"If you remember my name, you pay me a subtle compliment;
you indicate that I have made an impression on you."
"If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it.
Go out and get busy."
"If you can't sleep, then get up and do something
instead of lying there worrying.
It's the worry that gets you, not the loss of sleep."
"Principle 1. Become genuinely interested in other people.
Principle 2. Smile.
Principle 3. Remember that a person's name is to that person the
sweetest and most important sound in any language.
Principle 4. Be a good listener: Encourage others to talk about themselves.
Principle 5. Talk in terms of the other person's interests.
Principle 6. Make the other person feel important—and do it sincerely."
