Work Report - This blog originally focused on work, but it's now focusing on the collection of quotes I've accumulated.

Mike Crowl blogs in two places on Orble, and more than two on Blogger. His wife thinks he writes too much.

History as we see it

Things have slowed up here again, mostly because I've been on holiday (out of town) and because I'm working reasonably hard on the musical.

However, I need to record this quote from Salon.com writer, Andrew O'Hehir. He's writing a review of the movie, Social Network - the one about the founding of Facebook.

,,,we don't go to movies to learn about history, or at least we shouldn't, since the history taught in the movies is even more ludicrous and shot through with present-tense ideology than the history taught in schools.

Very nice.

Absolutely. History as it happened doesn't make for very good and concise drama, for one thing, and the writer's agenda often takes over from the facts, for another.
