Snap On Smile

July 9th 2009 08:10
If someone said to you, write about the Orange New Jersey cosmetic dentist, where would you start? I mean, who wants to write about the work of a dentist? Most of us are glad enough not to be anywhere near dentists at the best of times. (Even worse, last time I visited mine, I asked him how his wife, who was suffering from cancer, was doing. He gently informed me she'd been dead 18 months at that stage, and he had since remarried!)

The most recent dentist episode I've had was when I picked up my daughter from her dentist's, because she wasn't allowed to drive home. This particular daughter had always loathed going to the dentist because she'd had some bad experiences with dental nurses as a child. (On her first visit, she absolutely positively refused to open her mouth to let the dental nurse have a look.)

This time, however, my daughter was at ease, relaxed. Amazing. Apparently they now use some anaesthetic that doesn't require a painful injection into the gums, and this has made a world of difference.

Anyway, back to the Orange New Jersey cosmetic dentist. This dentist not only does cosmetic dentistry, but a host of add-ons such as facial cosmetics and Botox treatments. And then there are the porcelain veneers. Or the snap-on smile, which is described thus: No shots. No drilling. No adhesives. You can even eat while wearing the Snap-On Smile® appliance. Patients looking for a non-invasive, reversible, affordable approach to restorative and cosmetic dentistry are excellent candidates for Snap-On Smile. It’s an easy, quick and affordable solution for patients who want to feel better, look better, and function better.

Patients using Snap-On Smile report an immediate boost to confidence and self esteem. Most are impressed with the natural look and feel of Snap-On Smile and are grateful for the brief time investment — about two weeks — to achieve such life changing results.

All it takes is a brief consultation in your dentist’s office. The process is quick and painless. Your dentist will take photos and impressions of your teeth. You choose from different smile shapes and shades for your Snap-On Smile. In about two weeks, the exclusive lab at Snap-On Smile will create and send your dentist your new appliance for final insertion. Snap it in and wear it home.

You'll note that the model in the picture is holding an apple, one of those really hard-skinned apples that are the bane of people with any kind of false teeth. I'd be interested to know whether it's really possible to crunch into one of those with the snap-on smile, or whether the snap-on smile would wind up in the apple...!

I have now lost not only my two front teeth, but the roots beneath them as well. (This finally happened a couple of years ago.) With the plate I wear I can just and no more bite into a hard-skinned apple. But I always wonder whether my plate will survive. The front tooth on the plate I had prior to this one broke three times in a year...without an apple going near it.
