Simple Things That Might Make Me Successful If I Kept to Them!
April 14th 2007 02:40
I've just been tagged by another blogger on the meme theme of simple things that make you successful, so this particular post is slightly off from the usual topic I deal with on this blog. That's okay. Flexibility is something that makes you successful!
So there we go, my first sttmys is Flexibility. Unfortunately it's not something I've got a lot of. I had a lot more of it when I was young, both physically and generally, but you get less flexible as you get older, I suspect.
Second is discipline. For years I used to get up before everyone else in the house and have a quiet time, either Bible reading, or prayer, or things related to my Christian life. However, over the last several months, with a number of changes - and a lack of flexibility - I'm not doing so well in this quarter either.
Discipline in other areas is suffering too. Maybe I'm going through a very late mid-life crisis. I used to walk to work; now I can't. I used to memorise Scripture and poetry; haven't lately. I used to practice the piano a good deal; ditto.
My third sttmys is Keeping on Loving people even when you don't seem to see much in the way of results. I'm a bit more successful in this, but I'd be lying if I said I was really successful.
Persevering. This is the fourth, and last for the time being. Picking yourself up time and again, and keeping on plodding forward even when there doesn't seem much reason to do so.
I'm going to tag the following people, and see if they respond.
