Slight wind change

Two things: on the spiritual side, and on the practical, job side.
I've been re-reading Philip Yancey's Reaching the Invisible God, a book which the first time round I didn't much enjoy (so I remembered, anyway). However, this time round it's right for the where I'm at. One of the things he reminded me of was that trust in God isn't a matter of trust when things are going right, but also when they're not. Should I know this already? I've only learnt it about fourteen times, but the lesson hasn't stuck as well as it should.
I remember again those three guys in the 'burning fiery furnace': they're opinion on the matter was: if God saves us, that's okay. If he doesn't, well, he's still God, and we still trust him, and he can do with us as he pleases.
So, if God 'finds' me a job (to put it in a kind of theological way) then that's great. If he doesn't, it doesn't change how I feel about God. He's still my Father, and I still trust him.
Now all I've got to do is remember that...this fifteenth time.
In the meantime, however, after having reminded the personnel places yesterday that I still existed, I got a call from one of them today saying there was a three-week job going at the end of the month, full-time. Was I interested? YUP, is all I can say. Wouldn't you?
By the way, I'd forgotten, when I used the phrase, Burning Fiery Furnace, that that's the name of Benjamin Britten's opera on the subject of the three men. The words must have lodge in my brain somewhere...
