Slightly frustrated
July 25th 2010 05:02
Things have been rather sluggish on the WorkReport front. There are only so many hours in the day, and by the time I've done some study for my Varsity course (Christianity in New Zealand, if I haven't already mentioned this), worked on the script for the children's musical (near completion, but still requiring those final adjustments to make things hold together) and actually lived and breathed beyond these things and working full-time....there isn't much room for blogging.
Never mind, every so often I'll turn up on here again!
Talking of doing the Varsity paper, I might also not have mentioned that there's an exam. I haven't done an exam since...well, I thought it was school, but in fact I have done some spasmodically over the years. The only one I really recall well was Bookkeeping in which I scored 100 our of 100. Probably the only time I've ever done so well!
And in relation to exams I've been looking at a site called CCNA. On this site you can do training - CCNA training, in fact! And take exams.
So what is this about? CCNA stands for Cisco Certified Network Associate and Cisco are the 'world leaders' in networking products according to their site.
As far as I can gather CCNA accreditation allows you to work on Cisco networks with confidence and knowledge. They even have a CCNA boot camp - just like in the Army...or the movies!
However, one thing puzzles me about the CCNA site. It has a question and answer section, but when you check this out, you find that there are pages of questions from interested people, but no answers! Someone's not quite keeping up with the job, I think. (You can even earn 'star points' for answering questions, but plainly there's not enough incentive to do this.) It seems, when you look a bit more closely, that there's a link to a page where you might find the answers...but that just leads to more questions and still no answers!
It could be that you have to be registered on the site to find the answers, and the questions are teasers to get you to do so. However, this seems a slightly odd way of doing things. Not being a person who's going to need to become a Cisco Certified person in a hurry, it probably doesn't matter that I can't find more information. However, for those who are wanting the information, this site is a little frustrating.
