The musical has some music
September 27th 2010 03:08
Things have been pretty slow on the Orble front of late. Yet again I blame my involvement in a University paper on one hand, and my writing of the musical on the other. I'm still blogging a good deal on my main site but other things are getting a little left behind.
Anyway, this post is primarily to report that the musical's script is mostly finished (there'll be ongoing minor changes over the course of time, and especially as it gets into production), and even more exciting - for me, if not for anyone else - is that the music for the first two scenes is pretty much complete. Again there'll be modifications, but in general things are as they'll be.
The show has ten scenes in all; some are almost entirely musical (even if the singers are speaking dialogue, there's still some music running along in the background) and some are primarily spoken dialogue, with little music evident. The first two scenes have music from whoa to go, although there are snatches where the actors speak over the music, rather than singing.
But it's coming together nicely - especially as I was beginning to feel it was lacking in some sparkle when I first started setting down the notes.
