Three's plenty

One of the most popular posts I've written on this blog focuses on the speech Susan Sarandon gives in the movie, Shall We Dance. It's a speech that you find everywhere on the Net these days, but my blog post still gets quite a few research query responses.
Talking of weddings, my wife and two other women did the catering for a wedding a couple of weekends ago: around 120 guests fed for a very economical $700NZ. That's extremely good value.
But what a lot of work that was for the three women. Just as well they're the sort of people who put their heart and soul into such occasions and don't stint on the energy levels. You could never call them wedding accessories - pun definitely intended!
It was a buffet wedding and there were quite a few salads ( in fact there was enough salad left over for several of our family to have some for our evening meal that night); nevertheless, there was also a lot of other food, some of which had been prepared in advance by the other two women, some of it made up on the day.
It's amazing what you can do with three strong-minded, equable women who enjoy working together for a common cause.
Which reminds me: the other day I was waiting in the queue at the Post Office, standing beside the magazine rack - which has been most strategically placed - and there was a very glossy magazine called Bride......and groom. As you can see, the word, 'Bride' sticks out hugely at the top of the cover. The word 'groom' is just visible below it.
No wonder so many marriages struggle if women think it's all about them! (If it comes to that, they'll probably struggle equally if the man thinks it's all about the woman!)
